Having read a review of Flaming Cliffs in PC Pilot, I bought and installed it over a clean installation of Lock On v1.02. I then added Supermod09 to get the Naval Aviation update BUT despite my best endeavours I am unable to get a Training Programme to run more than a few moments without the sound breaking up followed by the screen stuttering and finally everything locks up.

Free flight seems to be OK but I would like to learn "How too" using the training progs.

I`ve looked thru the Forum and this problem appears to have been happening with other folk but unfortunately as an elderly non-tech body I couldn`t understand the various suggestions made to cure the prolem. Although I have on my third re-install decided not to use the 1.12 upgrade until I get assurance that it OK

If someone out there can help me in English-speak rather than Computer-speak I would be most grateful

Many thanks

1: Recommended installation is 1.1 over UN-PATCHED 1.00, as I recall. Not that it gave ME any problems, but that is what I've been told.

2: I don't know what the mod does and doesn't do to the LOMAC data-files, but you can bet your butt the stock tutorials weren't made with it in mind.

3: Lock-On has changed so much from 1.00 that the training-tracks don't work as they should anymore (since 1.01 even, I believe). Now, the navigation and such is ok, but anything that involves AI-work is unpredictable, to say the least. I once flew a F-15 track where an An-26 dodged an AIM-9, other craft did too and blew my toes off while the subtitles carried on like nothing ever happened.

WHAT I WOULD DO: Deactivate this naval mod and try the training-missions. Reactivate the mod and do whatever else you had in mind.

I agree, fresh 1.0 install then Flaming Cliffs. Do not install 1.12 until you are finished using the training tracks since the patch breaks the training. Only other thing I would install is the ground units LOD fix, I don't think it will affect the training.
