xxJohnxx Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Hi, I am working on some little mission. Basically I am having a SA-11 battery on the move, protected by one Tunguska, which is in the same group. I would like to have the Tunguska constantly be in the RED alarm state, while the SA-11 (in the same group) should not be active, therefor alam state GREEN. I coulnd't find a way to do this. Deactivating the "Unit KI" for the SA-11 units won't allow them to move. I couldn't find a way to change the alarm state of a single unit out of a group. The closest I could get was with a MIST script, where the whole convoy would be in the GREEN state until a target was within LOS. However, then the Tunguska is not having it's radar on (which would nice to have. Maybe not for this example but for other applications too). I wondered if there might be a script to acomplish that. ENO Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I can't recall but don't the SA11 units need to be stationary to be radiating? That would be handy if you disabled group dispersal (leave it on but make it 0 seconds from what I've read otherwise it may not work... you can test it). That way the SA11 units wouldn't turn on until the group got to its destination. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
xxJohnxx Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Unfortunatly the SA-11 will go into a pre-launch mode if you want to call it like that. The command-vehicle, searchradar and launchers extend their antenntas, the searchradar will deploy and start turning and the launchers, given a target is within engagment range and the searchradar found it, will turn towards the target. Just when the launchers are about to fire they will shortly halt to fire their missiles (with the launchers not firing, trying to drive arround the firing launchers). I am not sure it should be that way. I guess the SA-11 search radar would not be on, on the move. Therfor the disabling of group dispersal doesn't change the behaviour. ENO Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 My closest suggestion then would be to clone the group, turn the second one into the tung and have it follow shortly behind... Not sure if you can even script AI off for individual units within a group. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
xxJohnxx Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 The "AI off" can be set for single units out of a group with the built in trigger functions. However, all units with the "AI off" will just sit there, while the remaining units drive off. I was thinking about two separate convoys. I have seen approaches with two different moving trigger zones, where the closer trigger zone would stop the following convoy, the further away will set it to continue again. Might look stupid though. But I guess it would work. Or are there any scripts for that, wich could do the same nicer? Like adjusting the speed depending on the distance instead of stopping it completely?
