USARStarkey Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 No we did not solve the issue at all. Just because the engine doesn't take into account humidity doesn't mean that is the issue. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Weed Be gone Needed
hitman Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) No we did not solve the issue at all. Just because the engine doesn't take into account humidity doesn't mean that is the issue. How can you say that, when I just demonstrated that it can be done? Not only that, but posted a screenshot AND a track file? And its not humidity thats the issue - its barometric pressure at altitude. I dont think YOU took into account the conditions for the test results you are using as a baseline for testing within this simulator. If you want the same results as the baseline you are using, you have to use the same exact weather conditions. Plain and simple. Edited April 19, 2014 by hitman
USARStarkey Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 I have not watched your track yet, as I have not yet been able to make it work, so im not exactly sure what it does or does not prove. Also, if there IS AN issue with barometric pressure, than it needs to be fixed. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Weed Be gone Needed
hitman Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) You can test it yourself with the mission I attached in a previous post. I know it works in 1.2.7 because its a very simple mission. As far as the barometric pressure being corrected, its not a bug it just needs to be added. Not very many people here complain about the weather in DCS, and yes, humidity plays a far larger role in flight than any weather related condition combined. Humidity controls atmospheric pressure, and the weather in DCS doesnt include it. They used a simple formula for air temperature - 2c drop in temperature per 1k feet in altitude. What is wrong with that equation is that humidity raises and decreases pressure, and pressure is proportionate to temperature, and inproportional to volume. You can have high pressure up top, and low pressure on the deck IRL. Too many factors to make an accurate calculation. Edited April 20, 2014 by hitman
USARStarkey Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Ok I set an AI to 28,000ft. he Ran at military power up to 441.899mph. Not the correct alt or MP, but thats close enough for me. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Weed Be gone Needed
