Backy 51 Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Just tried to fly a mission after downloading 1.2.8 RC2 and experienced problems with physical throttle inputs being recognized by the sim and lagging or no throttle movement visualized in the 3D cockpit of the A-10C. I am using a TM WH throttle/flight stick and CH Pro Pedals connected via a powered USB hub on Windows 8.1. The TM firmware loaded is 11 for the joystick and 23 for the throttle. My configuration worked properly in 1.2.7 with no problems. From a single mission with a sole A-10C on the ramp in a cold and dark condition, 1.2.8 RC2 is not detecting my throttle movement or input for engine start. APU is spooled, electrics are all on, fuel switches set, etc ... by the checklist. Throttles were over the detent in the off position prior to engine start. When I move either physical throttle over the detent to max and back to idle I see no movement of the virtual throttles in 1.2.8 R2 Engines will not motor or start. I ran an airborne quick start mission and noticed the virtual throttles did move in response to physical throttle inputs, but the lag was excessive and the animation movement was jerky as if one was slamming the throttles to max or chopping them to idle when I was actually slowly retarding power. I looked in Options and checked axis commands for proper settings. One thing I noticed was when I cleared an entry and then moved the throttle, it did not auto find the proper axis. I really hope I have a software issue and not a hardware failure. Does anyone know if the TM WH calibration utilities allow you to check the electrical integrity of the hardware? Or is there another self-test app out there that checks the throttle and stick for hardware failure? The only other variable to this situation is that I did install the FC3 module into DCSW. Why that would kill the throttle inputs is a mystery. I don't really want to do a complete reinstall of DCS, but will if that is deemed the best solution. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated ... I don't need no stinkin' GPS! (except for PGMs :D) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
G00dnight Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 when this happened to me I just killed dcs and restarted and it all came back. that was with 128 beta and in the p51 but same sort of thing when i went to close canopy it was jerky and no throttle or stick movement. I will try it again. AMD A8-5600K @ 4GHz, Radeon 7970 6Gig, 16 Gig Ram, Win 10 , 250 gig SSD, 40" Screen + 22 inch below, Track Ir, TMWH, Saitek combat pedals & a loose nut behind the stick
chaseydog Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I having the same issue with starting the engines using the Warthog throttles in 1.28. I can start the engines using RAlt + Home and RCtrl + Home, but not with the throttles. The throttle animation doesn't work until the engines are running. Once the engines are started the throttles seem to work fine meaning the engines will spool up and the animations reflect my throttle moments. I'm on Win 7
