Hello. I had a short power outage a few days a go. Ever since, my TrackIR-3Pro will not work. At first, Windows would only recognize it as a "USB Device" and thus would not accept the TrackIR drivers. Eventually, I did manage to install it as TrackIR, it even shows up in Device Manager as one of the USB devices, and the red lamp is on, but neither ver. 3 nor ver. 4 software see the device when I run them.

Apparently, this problem is already established on the NaturalPoint forums and appears to be a problem with XP users and the Windows registry. A registry fix has been issued by NaturalPoint, but it didn't help me, so I'm not sure that my problem is exactly what the others have been experiencing.

Anybody have any experience with this?

Thank you,

EB

You may well have tried this already, but I used to have that problem with my TiR3 Pro. What I had to do was unplug it and plug it in again. I just got the typical sounds XP makes when unplugging and replugging a USB device, and it was good to go.

The symptoms were: TiR visible in the device manager, but on loading the TiR software, there was no tracking. The window that shows the dots would often be bright flashing green, or just black. I closed the software, then did the plugging thing, then ran it again - that always sorted it out. It used to do this so often (especially after the computer had been 'asleep'), that I got a USB extension cable and had the plug sitting right next to me on the desk.

The TiR 4 I have now has never done that.
