BitMaster Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 .......... .....First time I saw that at late 90's and still we don't have them :) (That would offer a great benefit too, like add a shading to sun area or overlay intelligence what is easily seen just by looking around, or close the shades when missile is coming at you and you don't want to see it ;)). Yeah, those shades would be cool :) It can't hit me if I can't see it !!!!!! Fri13 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Yeah, those shades would be cool :) It can't hit me if I can't see it !!!!!! Bit LOL But seriously thinking it would bring revolution to cockpits and information war. No requiring to wear helmet mounted devices when the cockpit glass can draw you all the data. No need for NVG when cameras around hull delivers the feed to around you. No need to wear sun glasses or use helmet shade visor when the cockpit itself shades the area around position of sun. And make it with digitalizer and you could touch the glass in BWR to choose contacts for radar focusing etc if they suddenly appear somewhere around you and AWACS spots thr!m. In dog fight your eyes are followed and used to guide targeting systems on target. You could get the target speed and direction indications as well drawn on it trough glass. If we add enough processing power to fighter (what smart phones already posses, small enough to even fit few of such for backup purposes) we could get a cockpit what allows to blackout everything around and then draw a line graphics from sensor data in foreseeing future. It would become a simulation, think about DCS labels in fighter. And then we should all start playing with labels i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
