alejo5515 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Hello, people, bothering again: I'm wanting to know how the TC-1 Map is used, since I downloaded it but I need to know whether to print or view it from another monitor or integrate the simulator. Thank you very much.:helpsmilie:
WildBillKelsoe Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) If you downloaded it, your best bet is to print it on A1 (IIRC) paper. Then either fold it and put it in a clear map case (it wears edges over time) or don't fold it but laminate it and put on on a wall near your sim kit, fully stretched (then you need to know where you are and that can be troublesome).. What I did with my TC-1 is that I bought it, sliced it into mini sectionals, laminated each sectional per original fold, and numbered the sectionals. I then took a full A4 map downscaled and marked it like the sectionals with sector number on the back. Everytime I fly I have to go through a handful to know where I am... Based on my experience, you should print it on A1, use the map case (what I would do given a second chance before stupidly slicing my purchased one) For map cases, look here: http://www.cascadedesigns.com/sealline/pouches-and-cases/map-case/product if you want to annotate, you can slide in a clipboard of any unused large box cut to folded size as padding under map. then get erasable marker and you'll be good to go. remember, you may need to open the full thing to scroll to a specific region you're flying. If you have Ipad, open tc-1 on computer and crop the area you fly in (need GIMP) with the following resolution for ipad 2: 2048x1536 pix try to extend area 50 miles up and down and left to right.. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km.
