poiopopo Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 (edited) Hi fellas, Is this possible? Right now i'm using a touchscreen with Helios and its impossible to change frequencies on it, because of some bug. Edited July 20, 2014 by poiopopo
PFunk1606688187 Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I can only report on changing frequencies with keyboard keys. The last time I checked the default bindings were broken and you had to write your own and put them in the default.lua in order for the frequency knobs or the preset knobs to work properly. As far as I recall the UHF ones should work fine but the VHF ones are borked. I don't know how this relates to Helios though, so I'm not going to go through the whole spiel of what I did until someone can confirm it works. Even with my fixed bindings the preset roller on the VHF radios is bugged, as are the individual frequency knobs. If you rotate them too many times in a given direction it puts the actual frequency out of sync with what is represented or meant to be in the preset. 1 Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.
poiopopo Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 Hi, I didn't think to check the key bindings in DCS! I added a key binding in DCS to cycle through all the numbers, and it works just fine! I've only tested VHF AM but the FM should be fine. Thanks for that. There is still a problem with Helios though, any change done in the DCS cockpit does not properly reflect in Helios's cockpit, and still skips a few numbers. So its best not to look at Helios's cockpit when you want to see the real frequency. Not sure if this bug is from Helios itself or the profile I'm using (Cap Loz's).
Zaxxar Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 The radios are bugged - this is a known and ED are working on it.... see: ED Forums » English » Digital Combat Simulator » DCS: A-10C Warthog » Bugs and Problems » A-10C Avionics and Weapons » Radio's STILL not fixed.
PFunk1606688187 Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I think you should check to see if those bindings work properly, I had to custom write some bindings because the freq knobs would leave me with an incorrect freq, ie. one different from whats displayed by the ingame panel. If it works without problem though good, you've got it better than me. :P Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.
