LFCChameleon_Silk Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 I've read that activating the laser while having the gunpods selected (although from very old FC2 source) should activate a mode that allows you to overfly what the laser is pointing at and you can press and hold trigger and gunpods automatically depress and fire at the right time, however I've tried everything and pulling the trigger just fires the gun off into the air even with the laser turned on, am I doing something wrong? is this feature broken in the Grach/Rook? does it even have the capability of doing this or does it only work in the Tankovy?
vicx Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 It works in the Su-25T. I tried it in the Su-25A and it did not work.
LFCChameleon_Silk Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 yea theres just some old information around about it being done in the Grach and just wanted to confirm its just not a feature for it (or a bug) Considering I really like the gunpods (sniping vulcans on excellent is not only good practice but a great use of a pylon)
Sceptre Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 it definitely works in the Su-25A. I can't remember which command it was exactly, but it's one of the gunsight/gunpod elevation buttons. Then you simply press the "target lock" button (enter) with the laser on and the gun pods will aim at that point. Sorry, no, it does not work this way, you don't use the lock button in Su-25A with gunpods - It works as follows (in 1.2.9 and also in 1.2.8) and it works very well - 1. Engage laser 2. you depress the gunpods so they point down somewhere to the ground, however the aim point is not ground stabilized (lock button does not work here). 3. The aimpoint is ground stabilized only when you press the fire trigger (laser has to be on). This means the guns will fire at a point on the ground and pods will move to compensate the movement of the aircraft only during the time of firing. 4. If you want to fire a longer burst disengage the cut/off burst switch. 5. If you want to strafe a column of vehicles with the gunpods don't engage laser. I hope it helps.
LFCChameleon_Silk Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 ok thanks Dr Arrow step 5 clarifies exactly what its doing when laser is on/off. thanks for the help.

Thanks for correcting me, it's been a very long time since I last flew the Su-25A, nearly a year I think, so I wasn't sure exactly how it was done. I was sure that that '25A could do it though, so thanks :) RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5
vicx Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 This is good to know. Thanks DA, and CS for the thread.
