Hardcard Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) IMPORTANT NOTE: I was wrong in my estimates! The amount of fuel of the Su-33 is correct, the problem is the fuel gauge, which should indicate 9,500Kg instead of 6,000kg. Therefore, this wasn't a fix, it was a cheat, and I'm removing it as a result. The Su-33 range is 3,000km when flying at 9,000+m, which is consistent with the aircraft's specs, the info below is incorrect, ignore it! Hi everyone! After a little bit of insanity, frustration, despair and testing, I've been able to create a fix for the nasty Su-33 fuel problem. With this fix you'll be able to refuel your Su-33 to a realistic internal fuel amount of 9400kg (it works in multiplayer too!). The fuel gauge will correctly indicate 9400kg after the plane gets a 100% refuel. In order to achieve this, I've replaced 6 tons of the Su-33's empty weight by 6 tons of extra fuel, therefore the aircraft will weigh the same as before when fully loaded, you won't notice any difference in handling, speed, etc. The reason of the fuel bug was an incorrect estimation of the Su-33's real internal fuel amount. The fuel gauge showed only 6000kg of fuel loaded when, in fact, there should be an internal fuel load of 9400kg. To remedy this, I've adjusted the values in order to compensate this aberration (by adding 6 tons of extra fuel in exchange for 6 tons of empty weight) and I've done it in a way that doesn't change the aircraft's final weight when fully loaded. The aircraft will become increasingly lighter as fuel is spent, when low on fuel, you'll be flying a 6 ton lighter plane, but I don't think you'll notice much difference. I wasn't able to find any file responsible for the fuel ratio of the Su-33, so I was compelled to make this raw fix instead, lol. EDIT: In case I haven't made it clear in the explanation above, without this fix your Su-33 will only have a maximum fuel load of 6000kg, which is 40% less of what it should be, therefore you'll have 40% less effective range when flying the Su-33. This fix allows the Su-33 to recover the 40% range that it had lost when the fuel bug was introduced (with the new Su-33 cockpit release). Here's a 10 minute video that shows the fix in action... It also shows how to perform inverted air refuelings and carrier landings with the Su-33,:D: The installation instructions are included in the rar file. Enjoy your Su-33 at full range!!!! Hardcard NOTE: All this was a mistake on my part, ignore it! The Su-33 range/amount of fuel is correct, the problem is the fuel gauge, which should indicate 9,500kg instead of 6,000kg. ericoh Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) Hehehe, certainly a wild fix. Thanks for that. How does the extra 6 tons of fuel not get consumed tho? Hows that managed? Edited August 9, 2014 by ericoh
Hardcard Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) Hehehe, certainly a wild fix. Thanks for that. How does the extra 6 tons of fuel not get consumed tho? Hows that managed? I'm sorry, I don't think I understand what you mean. Those 6 extra tons of fuel will be consumed as well, of course, but now the aircraft has effectively 9400kg of fuel to burn whereas it had only 6000kg of fuel before. ...Perhaps you are asking what happens to the weight of the aircraft after that extra fuel is burned, right? In that case, yep, the aircraft will weigh less, but I don't think 4-5 less tons are going to make much difference (I said 4-5 tons because you need to keep in mind the weight of weapons and ECM pods, plus the aircraft won't be 6 ton lighter until ALL the fuel has run out). If you find any problems, please, let me know! Edited August 9, 2014 by Hardcard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

JNASova Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Thanks Hardcard.I will install and test it. Смрт фашизму,слобода народу! www.jna.site50.net
Hardcard Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) Thanks Hardcard.I will install and test it. If you find any problems, just let me know. PS: Are you from Crna Gora? Would you believe me if I told you I slept on the top of Bobotov Kuk one night (sleeping bag and tent, of course)? Plenty of wind and weird noises that night, I hardly slept at all LOL. One of the craziest things I've ever done, LOL. Edited August 12, 2014 by Hardcard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Hardcard Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 LOL, it seems that nobody is flying the Su-33... Or perhaps people like flying that plane with a 60% fuel cap... I don't get it, really. Do you like having to refuel your Su-33 40% sooner than in reality while those F15s still fly happily? Of course not! Nobody likes that! LOL. Then why don't you use my fix? LOL [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Hardcard Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Remove this! This was a fiasco! Sorry about that! I'll try to fix that faulty fuel gauge, but I probably won't be able to do it. Sorry guys, if you downloaded the file just remove it, it's a cheat rather than a fix! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ericoh Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 No worries man, this is up to ED not you! Appreciate that you were trying!
