ozTRipwiRE Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Hi, I recently bought the FW 190 D9 module and like it quite a lot but am having a problem with not being able to lower the flaps in order to land etc. I press the ‘F’ key to lower flaps but they do not move. I mapped the flaps to lower when I set my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS flaps switch to down just to check it but still the flaps do not lower. I also pressed LWin + 1 (in the Commands section this was meant to turn on the electrical system for the flaps. I don’t know much about this system yet) before pressing the ‘F’ key and the HOTAS flaps down switch but still had no luck. Can anyone please tell me if I am missing something here or is this a glitch in the sim? By the way I just tried the same thing in the Mustang and the flaps lowered properly first time. I didn’t think it worth doing a track for this but can do if needed. Thanks, OZTRIPWIRE My specs are: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. My sound card is a 256MB RAM 3-core MDX Intel ® Display Audio, NVIDIA High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio.
NeilWillis Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Did you try pressing the flaps buttons in the cockpit? I'd suggest it was a key mapping issue, and that will confirm it.
El_Marta Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 In the 190 you cannot lower and raise flaps like in the P51. You can only choose between 3 fixed positions. Thus you need 3 buttons (1 for each position). In order to make the Warthog's flaps switch to behave in the 190 like in the A10c either the Warthog's flap switches' behaviour has to be altered via target or new commands have to be added to DCS via luascript. The same is true for using the Warthog's throttle switch. I'am using the Mod by Polaris who added alternate commands to the luascript for the 190's joystick commands. Have a look at this thread esp. post #17 and #22.
ozTRipwiRE Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 Flaps OK Hi, Thanks very much for your help but I have sorted out my issue with the flaps in the FW190. I expected the lowering of the flaps to be visible from the cockpit like in the Mustang but just found out that they are not, and that the top part of the rear area of the wing stays in the same position in the FW190 when flaps are lowered, unlike the Mustang. The flaps seem to be working fine. Thanks again. ozTRipwiRE

Look out the cockpit on your right and look for the indication hole in the wing.
