I know the autopilot works. But i could never get it to work myself. You have to keep the stick neutral or something?

So please somebody explain step by step how to use the Autopilot in the F-15.

Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.

I have been reading this. but still it does not work with me.

First of, how do i engage all CAS channels? And what are CAS channels?

4. Control system

1) FFB must be working.

2) AFCS Attitude Hold - holds pitch and roll. All three CAS channels must be on to switch Attitude hold on. ATT HOLD is automatically disengaged when: load factor is greater than +4g and less than 0g, CAS axis is disengaged. Is temporary disengaged when: pitch is greater than +-45, roll is greater than +-60 or stick forces is applied. Can be engaged by A key

3) AFCS Altitude Hold - holds altitude and roll. Attitude Hold must be engaged to switch Altitude hold on. ALT HOLD is automatically disengaged when: Attitude hold is disengaged, vertical velocity exceeds 2000 FPM. Is temporary disengaged when: roll is greater than +-60, stick forces is applied. Can be engaged by H key

4) Autopilot lights are working incorrect. It's known issue. WIP You can check mode by its switch

Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.

CAS channels are engaged by default. If they weren't, you'd be flying a 'fun ride'.

All you have to do to engage AP is press 'A'. You will also see an autopilot (ATT HOLD) come up on your caution panel. If that doesn't work, then your stick values might be jittering or something.

There are two things for AP:

'A' for ATTITUDE hold, and 'H' for ALTITUDE hold. You cannot engage altitude hold by itself, you need to engage attitude hold first.

Certain flight attitudes will cancel AP.

If you're thinking that the AP should be flying the plane around the various waypoints, and it's not doing so any more:

- There's no such capability on the real plane

- You ONLY get ATT/ALT hold.

Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
