Ultra Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I am successfully using the latest version of FaceTrackNoIR with a PS3 eye camera for headtracking, but I have come across an unusual problem. When I am flying a mission and decide to end it, after i click "Quit" Windows tells me DCS has crashed and logs the crash report. When it finishes logging or I stop it, DCS returns to the main menu correctly as if nothing bad even happened. What would cause this?
Thick8 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I had this issue when using Fraps with FTnIR and DCS. Ktulu2 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 When DCS gets out of a game, it has to unload the ram it was using. And as its using quite a bit of RAM, it take longer to unload than for other games. If you have a slow ram it can cause the bug you jsut mension, as it takes so long to unload that windows thinks its dead, as for when you load it without an SSD. I do DCS videos on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAs8VxtXRJHZLnKS4mKunnQ?view_as=public
Ultra Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Unfortunately, I doubt that's the problem... Thanks for the response, but that can't be the problem for me since it only started happening when I began using FaceTrackNoIR. Also I have 8 gigs of ram rated for 1866 speed, and on top of that I have DCS on an SSD. :D Any other ideas from anyone?
Ultra Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 Update... Just in case anyone else is having this problem, I haven't figured it out yet, but now I suspect Tacview or a combination of Tacview + FaceTrackNoIR may be causing it.
