fizban2000 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Can anyone recommend a good laptop for a 6 month trip to the Middle East? I have almost all the modules for DCS including the Mig 21. I understand laptop graphics are not the greatest but I really love DCS and don't want to be without this amazing Sim for that long. Thanks, Gene A-10C, MI-8, UH-1, KA-50, F-86, P-51, FC-3, MIG-21
Flying Penguin Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 How much is your budget and where are you? Most of the Alienware, Asus RoG and MSI G Series laptops should be able to run it quite well, but you are talking upwards of $1500 as a starting point. fizban2000 Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Budget is anywhere from 1,500, 1,800 ish. But if there is a cheaper option I am always open to that A-10C, MI-8, UH-1, KA-50, F-86, P-51, FC-3, MIG-21
Flying Penguin Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 In which case you are probably looking at an MSI G series or an ASUS RoG, I have an MSI GT70 2PE and I'm very happy with it. Certainly lots of bang for your buck, and the 17 inch screen is plenty big enough. Thanks, Gene I have tested DCS on "Gigabyte P34G v2" laptop, and was quite impressed. Cooler was a little bit loud under load, but its HW (i7-4710HQ, GTX-860M, 8GB RAM) could handle DCS pretty well. Costs here ~1200€, and with weight under 2kg it is even transportable. And it even looks quite good and decent...
