Luzifer Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Just how does the sight calculate an impact solution for bombing? It has gyros and accelerometers for sure, but it should need to know the distance to ground to properly calculate the impact point as far as I know. I know the tutorials say you can enable the radar in fixed beam mode, but that is optional and it works just fine – or at least almost as good – without. So how does it work without radar?
Tango Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I think it is a bug. I noticed it magically works when selecting certain weapons (e.g. Kh-66). If the RADAR is off, it should require manual setting. Best regards, Tango.
Kaiza Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I assumed it used radar altimeter, but don't know. [SIGPIC]http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/2500/a10161sqnsignitureedite.png[/SIGPIC]
Luzifer Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 I think one of the rocket or bombing tutorials explicitly mentioned that radar is not needed. So I don't think this is accidental. Could still be unrealistic though.
RPY Variable Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I think it uses the radar altimeter, the dive angle and airspeed to calculate the solution. No need for radar. Interl i7 6700k - 32Gb RAM DDR4 - RX 590 8GB - Sentey 32"2560x1440 - Saitek X-55 - TrackIr 3
