stray cat Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 The 400hz tone playing when the AC is on is way too loud and very annoying. I modded it quiet on my installation. It pierces through the engine sounds even and can get very disturbing to peopel with sensitive hearing.
zaelu Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 can you share your modded file? I also find it a bit too loud. Devrim Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 To reduce it, probably you can edit AC_400Hz sdef files that located in "...\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\MiG-21\Cockpit\" folder. zaelu Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Thanks Devrim, I'll try now. However... looking at this movie... it does sound annoyingly loud in real life also, I think :D . Tango Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Remember, the 400 Hz tone is coming over the headset, and can't be muted as it is interference from the electrical system. Best regards, Tango.
stray cat Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 can you share your modded file? I also find it a bit too loud. I have added an attachment with the AC sound muted. To install, overwrite the files in "...\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts\MiG-21\Cockpit\" You might have to overwrite the files after every patch because the game will replace themmig21_ac_silent.rar
Tango Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Hmm - that video makes it appear that they are dynamic inverters... Best regards, Tango.
