ozTRipwiRE Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Hi, Sorry for the long post. I have bought a Viewsonic TD2420 touchscreen monitor to use in DCS and have run into a problem setting it up to use in Helios, using Cap Loz' profile. I was following the basic guide to Helios by Sim Deck on Youtube and then had to transfer over to the guide on the ED Forums by DerekM as the guide by Sim Deck (although very good) did not work properly for what I was trying to do. I installed Helios and, following the guides, managed to get the image of Cap loz’ profile onto the screen as shown in the guide by DerekM on page 21 in Draft A (running without DCS World and still needing to interface with it) and I think I did up to then ok but when I get to the part where I have to find the export.lua file that was generated when I setup the DCS A10C as an interface in Helios it is not in the same folder as his was. I don’t know if that is because he got his from Steam and my DCS A10C module is from DCS directly but when I look in the DCS World/Config folder there is no ‘Export’ folder like the one that he had, and there is no export.lua file there. However there is already an export.lua file in the section I am meant to paste this newly generated lua file into, (Saved Games\DCS\Scripts) along with a export.lua.back file in the DCS\Scripts folder that I am meant to paste the newly generated export.lua file into anyway. I did not copy and paste these files into the Scripts folder, they were already there. My question is, ‘is this good to leave as is and to continue setting up my monitor with viewports for MFDs etc? I did look using the search function on the Start button for ‘export.lua’ (after adding the DCS A10C as an interface in Helios) and all I could find was that ‘export.lua’ file in Saved Games\DCS\Scripts so I am thinking that that is the one generated when I setup the A10C as an interface in Helios. I am not sure though. So is leaving this as it is fine and I just skip the section of the guide by DerekM where he copied the export.lua file generated by setting up the A10C in Helios into the DCS\Scripts folder from the DCS World\config section and continue from there or is that going to be a problem? I had better add that when I start the Helios A10C profile in the Helios Control Center and fly the A10C in DCS the gauges etc do not move. I set the install path as E:\DCS World (my DCS World is on E drive, obviously) when setting up the DCS A10C as an interface in Helios. I did do the setup of DCS A10C as an interface in Helios earlier than in the guide by DerekM because that was in Sim Deck’s guide, could that be the problem? Thanks for putting up with my questions as this is the first time I have done anything like this and it is a lot more complicated than I read that it would be, and thanks very much for any help.
