Hello everyone. So, I've finally caved in and bought the Huey. I've played the cold start training a couple times and somewhat gotten a hold of starting this beauty up. So I decided to learn how to use the weapons. I ran the Weapons Employment training mission to try and start, but once I started actually getting into using the weapons, I ran into trouble. In the mission, it has you switch to the left pilots position to use the flex sight. It said something about enabling the mouse pan to control and fire the weapons. I've also seen videos where people can use their TrackIR to move the flex sight around. I, however, can not, for the life of me, find out how to get that working correctly. I've went through the controls with no success. Mouse panning doesn't work, and neither does my TrackIR.

This is why I've come here. I know there's people who know how to get this working correctly, so if anyone could please quickly tell me how to get it working correctly, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. :)

But your TIR as such is working (i.e. looking around when at the 1st pilot's position)?

If that is the case, check Options -> Special -> Huey -> TRACKIR AIMING = on

If it is already set to "on" and it still does not work as expected, change it to off and restart DCS - then change it back to "on" (DCS sometimes recognizes the default settings for newly installed modules not correctly).

Then you should be able to pan the flex sight with your head movements. If you find that unconvinient and want to use your mouse instead, then:

- leave TRACKIR set to "on"! The option is somewhat a misnomer - it really means "Aim with your view pan device"

- pause TIR so it does not interfere with your mouse aiming

- enable mouse look with LCTRL + C

(tip: you could experiment with setting your TIR Pause hotkey to the same key combo so you can switch quicker)
