Harle Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Nice chart. Thanks for the translation! The first question mark on the top right seems to be the air-data probe extending from the nose. Well yeah, I kinda fugured that. Just can't seem to find the russian name for this air data boom, that's comprised of pitot tube, side slip and AoA vanes.
Harle Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Nice pics, Finger. Do you happen to have something as detailed on the rest of mig-21bis avionics assembly?
finger Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Hi there ASP-PFD-21 is not simply device and can be quite difficult to simulate it without proper information.ASP in this module is far off reality. So I try to explain some function step by step. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
finger Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Sorry,I don't have.Only weapons systems include ASP. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Harle Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Will you be so sweet as to clarify what GCI stands for?
finger Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Will you be so sweet as to clarify what GCI stands for? GCI-ground control intercept [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sissypilot Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Exactly finger. The middle scale is used for distance indicating by the radar not the side as implemented.
finger Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Witch middle scale do you mean sissy? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sissypilot Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 The transparent scale in the middle. My understanding is that when you lock a target you should be able to read distance the following way: When you select missile mode (PC) you should read 1-9 km in the upper part of the bottom scale When you select gun mode (HO) 0.4-2km on the bottom part of the upper scale. The top scale is in mils as far as I know.

The top scale is in mils as far as I know. When you have select missile mode, the first of all you must set lever SS-GYRO to SS position, next is AUT and next is RKTS(PC),radar must be active and LOCK on target. So,when target is between 1-9 km you can see real distance. Bottom scale is for both GUN or RKTS in GYRO mode, manual distance,AIR orGROUND. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
finger Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 The SS position is reserved only for missiles(R-3S,R-3R,RS-2US,R-13M,R-60M and CH-66 GROM) In SS position- gyro group not worked and mirror of gyroscope is mechanicaly caged(immovable)Central dot of piper is set in boresight. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sissypilot Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Makes sense. Thanks. The topmost scale is not clear for me. I dont think we will ever have a correctly implemented ASP as LN seems to rely on someone with very limited knowledge on the workings of it. But it is good at least to know how it should be working. sissypilot Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Wait a second. The english manual is saying something about traverse firing in SS mode with guns.
sissypilot Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 There is not much you can do above 3g exept for traverse firing or "fixed 300" mode. As I know other modes are for big lasy targets.
