thdman1511 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Just thought I would put it out there whether those who have a X-55 Rhino HOTAS system would be will to share there profiles they have created for there various aircrafts that they have and maybe post on the forum in one place. I am currently working on a profile for Black Shark 2, but once I have sort out why DCS World crash when I go to fire my weapons, and fined tuned it, I will post it here. beterthanlife Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 GI mate, any closer to posting that bs profile? Cheers.
Decibel dB Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Hi guys, I can't figure out how to map the zoom in or the zoom out slow on the top rotary knob of thrust lever on the X55. I know I can map it somewhere else but, I have it mapped there on all my other sim's and it works perfectly for me. Please help
runny Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 I just went through this today with my new HOTAS too. I ended up skipping the HUD software for this. Instead I went in the DCS controls menu>axis commands>zoom and I bound it right there. It works great even though almost all the controls are in the HUD profile. Note you can do that with any rotary except the left one of the throttle. DCS won't recognize it as an axis because it has no limit to its turning.
thdman1511 Posted December 27, 2014 Author Posted December 27, 2014 Have been working on my profile for the black shark, however I seem to come across an issue where I went to trim the black shark, and my security software saw it as a major threat and deleted x-55 software and driver. So I have gone back to working on the profile, hopefully it wont be too long before I have one ready to post. DCS World Online, SU25, SU25T, A-10 A, Black Shark 2, F15C, SU27, Combined Arms, A10C. thdman1511 Posted December 27, 2014 Author Posted December 27, 2014 You can use both the hud and the DCS control setup together, just need to make sure they are not both assign to same control otherwise there may be some issue. The control that dcs will not recognise, can be programmed throught the HUD, eg Rotary switches. Only issue with that, is you need to make sure you have the right hud profile activated, when changing aircraft. DCS World Online, SU25, SU25T, A-10 A, Black Shark 2, F15C, SU27, Combined Arms, A10C. I Did try that and it doesn't work, or I don't understand how to make work. Just to make sure I am talking about the rotary knob on the top of the thrust lever that I use with my left tumb You can use both the hud and the DCS control setup together, just need to make sure they are not both assign to same control otherwise there may be some issue. If suck if I can't mapped in into That rotary since in all other sim's that's where it works :( Are we talking about the same rotary switch? Thanks for the reply guys
Haukka81 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) ROTATARYS WILL WORK IN DCS. I have set my fov/zoom to rotary knob on the top of the thrust lever in dcs, works like dream. Just be sure that there is not duplicate somewhere and it should work. AND CHECK THAT YOUR TRAK IR is NOT set to ZOOM in dcs setup. Makes zoom go weird or not work at all. -haukka81 -edit- and i have set my throtle mini mouse to slew, but it must be done in saitek software, just set mouse x and y as bands and i have set those 0-40% 40-60% and 60-100% so you have fast react just like it would be with hat. Works again as dream :) Edited January 1, 2015 by Haukka81 Image Oculus CV1, Odyssey, Pimax 5k+ (i5 8400, 24gb ddr4 3000mhz, 1080Ti OC ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Haukka81 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Oh, and i don't like to use profile editor , dcs is quite good for setting x-55 ready, only some special things must be done in profile editor. (like mouse niple slew etc) SU-27 and DCS A-10 have not much common buttons so its better to set them in dcs for every plane one by one. IMHO :) Oculus CV1, Odyssey, Pimax 5k+ (i5 8400, 24gb ddr4 3000mhz, 1080Ti OC ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
thdman1511 Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 The scroll fwd and scroll bck is the rotary thats on the left of the throttle that you use your left pinky. I have also found that to not work very well, in DCS. Unfortunately there are no set default setups for the X-55 Rhino in DCS World. Other simulators and flight programs are starting to include profile for the X-55 Rhino. Star Citizen and War Thunder have profiles for them as does x-plane 10 and I believe FSX also have profiles for them. So may I suggest that if you have profiles for X-55 for various aircraft, that maybe you could upload both the DCS World Profile as well as your X-55 Profile. There have been a few members who have uploaded there profiles on the DCS website and I would like to thank them for the time they have but into there documentation. DCS World Profiles can be saved and you upload them the same way as you do X-55 Profiles, However they will have long names with them stating whether or not its for the throttle or the stick. Haukka81 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 X-55 Rhino HOTAS System Profile Sharing Scroll fwd And scroll back in left in throtle is not real rotatary, if you open your throtle you see that it just sends digital button pulses And is not analog axel. Thats why it wont work like you think. I recomend to use it for flaps , in dcs key settings just map flaps up And flaps down. thdman1511 Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) I have produce a document which show how DCS world recognises the controls of the Saitek X-55 Rhino HOTAS system. I think this will come in handy for those new to the X-55 and is attached. Just out of curiousity has anyone used the mode switches within DCS world to expand it further, and if so did you use them as switches or Modifiers. Decibel dB Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 That's the one I am talking about. So far I tried to map it directly on the Options- Controls under zoom in slow and zoom out slow but it doesn't recognize it or there is something that i don't understand. I did try to map it on the madcatz software but it seem to create all kind on conflict with the game, That should be a easy procedure like it was for my other sim's but nope what ever I try it does'nt work. Why is the picture don't show?

I tried again for a good 2 hrs today but I gave up and I did take your suggestion and map it on my nipple mouse instead. It's not perfect but at least it on my throtlle. Thanks

Haukka81 Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Looks like you can edit profile with even notepad ++ :) Save a profile then open the profile in a text editor like Notepad++ find both Code: [slider name=Mode [button=0x0009000F name='Mode 1' latchable=false] [button=0x00090010 name='Mode 2' latchable=false] [button=0x00090011 name='Mode 3' latchable=false]] and delete it all, then load the profile and enjoy no constant signal from the mode switch. Now i wonder what else i may find :D Oculus CV1, Odyssey, Pimax 5k+ (i5 8400, 24gb ddr4 3000mhz, 1080Ti OC ) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
