Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 These are all short tracks that I made for after flying the Hog and the Flanker for months on end, I got out of practice with the Eagle. Flying the Flanker is quite different form the Eagle – although it is the fighter I fly the most, I feel like I am flying a truck while in the Eagle I feel confident that when closing in I can get my kill. So I avoid getting too close with my target when flying the Flanker – and the helmet mounted display and data-link gives me the Situation Awareness (SA) to win. Going back to the Eagle was a shock – no data link, no helmet display and everyone says that the missiles don’t get the job done. So I had to find a solution to the problem – and I did. This pack will I hope show you that you can, with confidence face and win an engagement. You will see that to keep a cool head and maintain SA is what wins the fight – even when there are missiles in the air and some are tracking you : bank and do a few barrel rolls retain SA (by avoiding high G turns) while releasing chaff and flares. Hopefully these tracks will help you find your own set of tactics that will kill the enemy.

Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 thanks - that one was a dogfight track had a lot fun making.
ROE_Wedge Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Very nice post and i downloaded the tracks immediately, they shall prove to be very very helpful so thank you for your time you put into them. I work on aircraft radar in the USAF and ive always wondered why does this game hamper the F-15's missile armanent. Why is there problems with it? in real life there doesnt seem to be much of a problem but if anyone can correct me or give me some guidance here i would much appreciate it. Thank you :).
Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 You are welcome :) No doubts about it - the Eagle AAM require in LO more care when used than the Russian AAM, the reason why I don't know. I got used to employing them at shorter ranges at lower altitudes but I believe that it depends on each individual to find what is the best way.
