forgive me - I'm sure this is stupid ......

 

I cannot figure out how to configure controller buttons.

 

example:

 

options. pd 51 sim

controls. flight controls (?)

select Logitech 3d extreme pro

select - say - elevator trim up.

enter modifier (? buttons. I press the buttons and they show up)

 

from here I'm lost as to how to get a button assigned to a control surface.

 

some pls get me started and I'm sure I can figure it out from there.

 

show how to: assign elevator trim up to button 5. if I can do that I should be on my own from there.

You need to double click the cell in the column of the control that you wish to assign a function too and then press a button or move an axis to set that button/axis.

 

If you want to set a modifier, there is a button in the bottom left of the screen, click it and you can then assign a button as a momentary shift function (button) or a toggled shift function (switch).
