Charly_Owl Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Feel free to participate! Original topic (post entries there): http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14097 Oye, oye! With the recent DCS sale, I grabbed not one, not two, but THREE P-51D Mustang keys for dirt cheap. In an effort to help promote the flight sim genre, I decided to make this small gift to the members of this fantastic community. :D I am holding a drawing with the prizes being three keys for this awesome aircraft. For those who do not know, DCS is a "study sim", which means that every aircraft you fly (except for the Flaming Cliffs 3 modules like the F-15 and Su-27) are fully modeled and you operate an aircraft just like you would if you had a real North American P-51D Mustang in your hangar. The cockpit is fully clickable, the engine management complex at times and each aircraft will need to be treated with respect if you want to land in one piece. Learning to fly a new aircraft can be daunting and intimidating at first, but there are plenty of short, practical guides to walk you through it like these http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=128890&highlight=guide . I have taught plenty of new guys with any kind of DCS module you could think of, and I can tell you from personal experience that learning to fly these old warbirds is nothing short of amazing if you put a little bit of effort into it. But don't worry, the Mustang doesn't bite and it is a very easy aircraft to learn. Easy to learn, but hard to master. The multiplayer community is rapidly growing (mainly because of the concerted efforts of the Dogs of War and ACG servers) and with new modules being developed like the Messerschmitt Bf.109K4, Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX and XIV, Curtiss P-40F Kittyhawk and the Republic P-47, the future seems bright and full of very interesting possibilities. A Normandy Theater will be released in 2015-2016 with World War 2 era-specific units, airfields and user-made singleplayer and multiplayer missions. Here is how the giveaway will work: 1) You must nominate someone other than yourself and say why you picked this person. 2) Entries must be a member of the ATAG forums. 3) In the event that a winner already has the module, they will be given the option to pass it on themselves or leave it up to me to select another winner. 4) It is acceptable for multiple people to enter the name of the same person. Each entry will have a separate virtual 'ticket' for the drawing. 5) Please ensure that your entry is spelled correctly. Winners that do not appear to exist in the member roles will be discarded and redrawn. 6) Any one person may enter up to three, UNIQUE, names into the drawing. Keep in mind that the more names you enter, the lower the odds are for any single one of them. 7) Entries submitted by anyone count the same as everybody else's. 8 ) It will not be possible for one person to win more than one key. 9) Make sure you know whether the guy you nominate has the module or not. 10) You can edit your entries until the deadline set below. The draw for the three winners will take place Friday November 28th 2014 at 23:59 EST. Spread the word! fastfreddie Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 What no copies of a real plane (Dora) instead of this old ragged horse? Just kidding ... hope we get some new blood for the soon to be slaughter.
Charly_Owl Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 With the 109K close to release, I think us P-51 pilots will need all the help we can get. ;) I decided to go for the P-51 keys simply because they were 8 bucks instead of 15. Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) I actually offered my Dora, K4, UH-1H, Mi-8, KA.50 and FC3 keys away last month. Just had the p51d, but yesterday decided to support DCS again and bough back the K4, UH-1H and the F86 :-) I am new to ATAG, and know just a few members of the group there, so, really difficult for to nominate someone :-/ ... Maybe next time :) Edited November 23, 2014 by jcomm Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
