T0x1s Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Hello I wonder how is the freetrack? It is almost the same as Trackir 4? Also i am looking for a cheap camera that gives good result for freetrack.
Mowgli Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Hi there I use FTNIR with PS3 Eye Camera setup to 60FPS - I don't have experience with Freetrack and with the software & setup that I use I get a Considerable steady frame [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel i5 4690K | ASUS Z-97PRO Gaming Mobo | Nvidia Gigabyte GTX970 3.5/0.5 GB Windforce3 | G.Skill Ripjaws-X 2x8GB DDR3 1600Mhz | Samsung Evo 120GB SSD | Win10 Pro | Antec 750w 80 Bronze Modular
Devrim Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I quit using FreeTrack and switched to FaceTrackNoIR. I use FTNIR with 3-LED cap and Logitech C270 webcam. But I don't use HD video mod, not necessary in my opinion. 640x480 with 30 or 40 FPS is great for me... sniperwolfpk5 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I would suggest go with PS3 eye with a IR or LED clip and use FTNoIR( FacetrackNoIR) with PointTracker 1.1 as tracker. You will be amazed with the result. Win10, Intel 3rd Gen. Core i7 3.8Ghz, 20GB ram, Nvidia Geforce 1060 6GB Opentrack (Download it from HERE), PS3 Eye, Saitek x52-pro Joystick, DIY Rudder Pedals, Google Cardboard with DCS World English is not my native language
nd1312 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I'm using a PS3 eye at 75fps first with Freetrack, then FTnoIR and now with Opentrack. Sure, i never used TrackIR, but my setup works well enough that i don't have a reason to switch.
Tumbleweed Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 swapped from Freetrack to FTNIR with Trackpoint tonight and WOW.. Such a massive improvement. Freetrack was far too fiddly for me and I was never completely happy with it. Could never get the sensitivities and curves right no matter what I did. I now have complete free movement around my cockpits without no awkward head movements to zoom in low and none of the floaty laggy feeling :D Nice n easy n quick to set up. Thanks for the tip guys!!!
