ozTRipwiRE Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Hi, Just a few questions about the Open Beta for DCS World 1.2.12 and the Bf109 K4. My understanding from what I have read is that in open beta form this update will not automatically come up on the auto updater when I open DCS but is separate (so far it hasn't come up on my auto updater). Is this correct? Taking this into account and as I only want to use the ‘non-beta’ (if beta versions require a separate set-up process than ones that are automatically set up in the auto updater) DCS World versions can I download and install the Bf109 K4 module without setting up the Open Beta for DCS World 1.2.12? Am I right in thinking that I need to have the 1.2.12 version of DCS World to download/install/fly the K4? I am eager to fly the Bf109 but don’t want to have to manually set up an open beta version of DCS World (if my understanding of how they work is correct) to fly it. Could anyone please clarify this for me? I appreciate any help, OZTRIPWIRE

I appreciate any help, OZTRIPWIRE At the moment the K-4 is only available for installation for the current Open Beta version of DCS World, which is a separate install (http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world_open_beta). You will usually not be prompted to install it ("A new module is available ... blablabla") because the serial key you got is not yet bound to your ED store account (only generated and available for copy&paste at the backers page). But you can then install the module via the module manager and when you run a mission, the starforce popupwindow appears where you can enter your key. If you are only running the normal DCS:W, you can not install the K-4, yet. The module requires a DCS:W version of 1.2.12.xxx which is not available yet for the regular DCS:W. The autoupdater/module manager will not have the K-4 available to download, yet. ... does this answer your questions? I am not sure that I really understood your question, though ... :o)
