Ok, I've been using JSGME for over 2 years now without any issues. A couple a days ago I decided that with all the new things coming out in DCS I'd upgrade to a newer higher capacity ssd. But since reinstalling dcs world on it along with JSGME and the assorted mods every time I try to install them within the program I keep getting error messages saying another mod is using this file name. Eg I'm using both of Ricardo's A-10C and KA-50 HD pits along with many others, but because the beginning of the file structure is the same ie DCS World/Mods etc it gives me this error message. Any ideas? Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Cheers

I'm not sure that I get your problem, but two situation came in my mind:

* Some mods have "same" modified file, and if you install a mod (via JSGM) after another mod, you may get this error message. That means, "one file of your 1st mod has been replaced by 2nd mod, that's why your 1st mod may not work properly." Those mods must be examined in detail.

if this is not the problem, read this. :)

* What's the name of folder that you store your mods in DCS World? It's not "Mods", right? Because "Mods" folder is used by DCS World. It should be "_Mods" or something.

@ devrim Yes this was my first thought, but beacause it has been used for ages without issue not sure how this could be so. In fact the error message mentions the Folder name rather than the File name. Yes my mod folder is _MODS within DCS World folder as it was when it last worked in the previous installation.

@charley - I did change my file structures to reflect these changes so it's not that either. I'll post a photo later.

maybe your JSGME uses the old Log or Backup Files in the _MOD Folder (not sure how this files are named..not at my computer atm) and thinks your mods are already installed?! Have you disabled all your mods before you installed everything new?! Have you just copied the whole _MOD Folder to the new ssd?!

Hey Lizzard, It was a fresh install so there wasn't anything in the DCS World folderThe warning I get contains the following example

Folder "DCS World" has already been added by the "mod here" mod.

Folder "DCS World\Mods" has already been added by the "mod here" mod.

Folder "DCS World\Mods\aircraft" has already been added by the "mod here" mod.

So even though the end files are obviously different and in the correct paths the original folder seems to be the cause(?)

Enabling this mod may have adverse effects on your game

Are you sure you want to enable this mod

It sounds very strange since no mod should contain the folder DCS World.

yes the warning tells you that you have a mod named "mod here"..and this mod added the folders DCS World/Mods/aircraft..etc

and now it seems you want to install another mod that creates this folder structure. This is just a warning like "Hey Dude..there is a mod named "mod here" that has already altered that Folders..are you sure you want to activate another mod with that folders?!" As long as you activate the 2nd mod..most likely nothing will happen..problems may occur as soon as you disable on of the mods..that confuses jsgme

ah yes..and cichlidfan is right.."DCS World" should be the root folder for JSGME and not be contained in any mod..

Maybe it would be useful if you post a Screenshot from your DCS World Folder and on of your _MODS Folder (_MODS is the folder recommend by the JSGME tutorial..it has nothing to do with the DCS World/mods folder!!!

Thing is even though this wasn't my original set up - in fact none of the mods originally had the the folder DCS World structure from the top. As I had saved my _MODS folder with everything in it as it was when it worked, when I reinstalled everything it still didn't work like that anyways and that's why I reworked the folder structure back to DCS World. I've obviously forgotten how to do it so will take a look again tomorrow. Thanks

I'll post a screenie tomorrow. Thanks for the link by the way. I think I've forgotten one vitally important thing. But I'm not gonna say cos it'll make me look like a total div!
