BlitzPuppet Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Love how detailed the damage model in this sim is, I'm having an absolute blast. Last night I was flying on DoW's server (Mission was named something with "bees" in it), and decided I'd take the 109K for a spin. I start up and get into the air without issue (I'm really getting the hang of taking off and taxing this beast :joystick:). I follow a D9 to the fun zone and notice a swarm of planes in the distance twisting and turning on eachother. I see a few dots getting closer, then realize at least one is a P51 headed straight towards me, he lets off a couple of shots and I hear myself get hit a few times. After a max of 3 minutes of dog fighting, MW50 use, and the flaps being played like an accordion, I finally shoot the guy down. I make a run for home since I can tell my plane is making some weird noises (LOVE Diveplanes sound mod by the way). I'm about halfway home when I realize my gunsight is getting pretty dim. "Uh oh" I thought, "must be my battery that got hit" so I gave it more RPMs to counter the loss in amps. NOPE, still dim so that means my generator/alternator is damaged. I decide that I better get home before it's too late so I decide to give it quite a bit more power since all the gauges are looking to behave normal. Right at that second I notice the fuel pressure gauge dropping FAST. I ease off the throttle and use the priming pump to bring it back up to normal...guess I'll be low RPM limping home. I do end up making it back to base and land, and take a look at my aircraft. Seems like I took a few hits! Thanks again DCS for making such an awesome sim!! 1
