An Aim-120 Question ??

Once you launch an Aim-120 in the Air in a BVR mode do you have to maintain lock till the on board radar of the Aim 120 go active or can you turn your nose and break lock once launched?? :helpsmilie:

You need to maintain the lock until the missile goes active ("Pitbull"). There is an indication in the lower left of your HUD that will indicate when the missile goes active.

Been a while since last I used the 15 so I'm sure i'll be corrected if necessary.. But I believe bottom left of your HUD will show somthing like:

 

M X X

 

M: missile in flight

First number is time to pitbull

Second number time to impact.

 

Once missile is pitbull its off its leash.
