Open Canopy shadow not visible on ground

When inside the cockpit (F1), with the canopy open, the opened canopy is not visible in its shadow on the ground. See first screenshots attached.

 

On the other hand, when in outside view mode (F2), the opened canopy has its correct shadow shown on the ground. See second screenshot.

 

I've tested this with the Su-27 and the F-15, and both display the same behavior. However, I haven't tested it with any other plane at this time...
