SimonColt Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Hello, Im a P51 noob, only had this thing for few days so talk to me like Im a complete moron please :D So I have two questions, one is about the Oil temp and the other about super charger. So about the oil temp. No matter what I do, changing radiator top fully open/closed, or lowering/increasing MP/RPM, it simply won't go down under 100 degrees, which is above the norm, according to the labels in the cockpit gauges. And before you ask, yes I am aware that when idling on the ground I should put the parking brake on and put the MP and RPM up a little bit to ensure that the cooling system gets enough air(or something lol.). I have these oil temp issues mostly in the air. And the second question I have, regarding super charger is that I simply cannot turn it on. I tried climbing to 3.5km alt, switching it from auto to low, then high, and it just flips itself back to low, refusing to activate. Could someone point out what Im doing wrong? Thanks.

I think that this high level of temp is actually high oil pressure you are talking about. It is a bug as far as I know. The oil temperature is at the top of the gauge, the big bar. Secondly, supercharger is automatic. It will jump into high blower at a certain altitude. You cannot set it to high blower, you can only hold it at this position manually for testing purposes. Here should be information that shoul be helpful. Also, check your P-51 manual that you should get with DCS:P-51D. https://books.google.pl/books?id=SfwqCTY9I6MC&pg=PA13&lpg=PA13&dq=p-51+supercharger+manual&source=bl&ots=hPFKYxXPH5&sig=JizKvwqLuuekGtHcLVr_-Pd1mqs&hl=en&sa=X&ei=BracVLaQJoHtULfMg-gC&ved=0CDkQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q=p-51%20supercharger%20manual&f=false Cheers :P Edited December 26, 2014 by Solty [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]In 21st century there is only war and ponies. Either way, is this bug actually "dangerous"?
Mar Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 (edited) Well normally the oil system should explode at the pressures it's showing when we start. You're never supposed to let it go over 150 I believe, but I've been flying around with these wacky pressures with no problems so far. EDIT: At first sight, there appears to be a bug in the modelling of oil viscosity. Edit: This is definately a bug. Reproduced and reported. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=135055 Edited December 26, 2014 by Mar From the shadows of war's past a demon of the air rises from the grave.
