Hey guys! First time posting here! Be gentle with me! :D

I recently picked up the Mig-21 and worked hard to learn how to use it as best as i can! I can now, take off, dogfight, intercept, use the radar, and even land after fellow players gave me tips over at reddit! :D

But i am having problems with the radar!

I learned how to use the radar and can use it decently. However when i make a mission with the mission editor (simple mission with just me and a bunch of friendly and enemy AI unarmed planes flying around the airfield) my radar refuses to detect anything. no matter what range or setting, nothing shows up on radar . The iff button on the radar panel wont activate either. I press it, it clicks, but doesn't show that red ring of activation. The beam rider works if i point in the direction of the enemy and spam enter, but the radar itself will not show ANY targets, friendly or enemy.

I have let the radar warm up for 5 minutes on stand by, i have tried multiple angles, and even went as close as 5 km and as far as 25 km with nothing appearing on the radar. Clouds do appear and i use the weather filter to get rid of them. But enemy/friendly planes don't appear.

Whats up with that? Did i forget something? Cheers!

I guess the aircraft are flying so slow, that without low speed filter they wont show on the radar.

Also since they are flying so low too, you could compensate the clutter with the RV64 switch next to the RV62 main radar switch.

Otherwise the mission works fine for me.

Hi, I tried the mission. All the other aircraft are AN-30 recon planes. Most, if not all are flying at 2000m speed about 300km/h. This is considered extremly slow. Almost 'helicopter' speed. If you push the "slow" filter button (one of the 8 buttons above the radar scope) the radar sees every airplane just perfect.

Happy Flying! :pilotfly:

As I know, MiG21 radar now cant detect target flying below 1500m in normal mode no matter what you do, but it can lock on target with fixed beam mode.
