StrongHarm Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Is the vertical velocity indication on the HUD incorrect? The one you turn on in the IFFCC Display Options.. It looks like it's doubling the value of the analog gauge... or am I missing something? It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

The attitude indicator (analog gauge) simply shows aircraft pitch in relation to the horizon, while the VVI indicates the actual flight path of the aircraft through the air. Not 100% sure I understood your question, but that's what I took from it.
StrongHarm Posted January 7, 2015 Author Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) Not the VVI, the vertical tape type scale you can turn on in the IFFCC. Taylor, I think you're talking about the TVV. StrongHarm Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 More specifically: - IFFCC menu - Go into Display Modes - Make Ver Vel YES instead of NO It's the tape on the right side of the HUD. I would expect it to be the same value as the analog VVI, but it's not. If it's a bug it's not significant of course, but if it's not a bug I want to close the gap in my understanding. Anyone know? StrongHarm Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Could someone test it and see if you get the same results please? See below to activate. Numeric and scale of VV HUD tape seems to be higher than indication on analog VVI. Snoopy Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) Can't duplicate, looks the same to me. The scale is different, maybe that's what's confusing you? The anolog gauge is 0.1 up to 1.0, the HUD is 0.2. Approx .8 up Just under 1.0 up Edited January 12, 2015 by Snoopy v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
StrongHarm Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 There's my problem Snoopy, and it was as simple as I feared; HUD VV tape shows within 1000fpm level of granularity, not the full range of the VVI. THANK YOU.. yet again You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Snoopy again.
