Airmage Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Hi. After setting a small mission around Krasnodar i have noticed a small issue. In the pics bellow there can be seen a view difference between cockpit and external views. It seems that vision distance varies when inside or outside cockpit. Also when zooming in and out in pit there seems to be a foggy vision delimitation like the camera is inside a graphic processing sphere. Is there a way to enlarge this limit in order to see at larger distances? In the UH-1 pics there is a clear difference between view distance of objects, In the F-15 pit pics view distance depends on the zoom, but seems to have a predefined limit. Question is: can this limit be increased?
Kuky Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) Its the same with cockpit view in any aircraft, zoom in and distance of objects on terrain increases. In the UH-1H you have larger FoV in cockpit then in externals, that's why you see less of the buildings. You can manually increase the distances also but if you still use use wider FoV it won't matter much as the size scale is not the same with different FoV. What I mean by this, even if you increased buildings distances to 30Km, they won't look very visible as they will be very small as they will be scaled down. But if you reduce FoV in cockpit (where you lose peripherial vision) they will be larger (like in that F2 view) and then you can notice them at further distance. Marioshata Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 For the second question you can try increasing "far_clip = 150000" in your DCS World\Config\graphics.lua using Notepad++, line 113, 133 or 153 depending on your in game settings. It's 150km by default.
Kuky Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 na, don't need to edit anything in Graphics.cfg What you want to edit is in ...Config/Terrain/High.lua (if you are using High Visibility setting) and in there edit this part district = { maxDistrictsAround = 100000; farDistance = 10000.0; <-- increase this to say 20000.0 (20Km) farFullRenderDistance = 6000.0; nearFullRenderDistance = 800.0; nearDistance = 560.0; treesFarDistance = 1500.0; treesFarFullBlendRenderDistance = 1200.0; treesFarFullRenderDistance = 1000.0; treeslodDistance = 600.0; heightFactor = 0; heightRandomFactor = 0; ajastfactor = 1; but once more, high FoV and it won't be as effective PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
