Hi there,

I'm looking for the "nagging nadia" warnings russian text messages and the corresponding phonetic transcriptions.

The audio files are available in that folder:

\DCS World\Sounds\Speech\Sound\RUS\Common\Betty\Messages

There's a "VOICE MESSAGES AND WARNINGS" section in the DCS Su-27 manual, but everything is in english.

All I managed to dig out of the internet is that .pdf with some messages (from the venerable Lock On). >>> direct download <<<

IyyIPDY.jpg

Example:

[pousk razreshon] --> launch authorized

пуск разрешен

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar enough with the russian language to find the right cyrillic spelling by ear.

I tried to find the "bingo fuel" cyrillic message by myself and that didn't go too well :megalol:

робирщ басврата <-- see? that does not even exist! (said Google)

(it's different from Lock On)

So if there's a valid transcription somewhere (with the russian text), please help me save the few neurons I have left!

Thanks!

I've been meaning to make a translation table for some time, along with a transliteration/pronunciation guide.

For starters, to help you with your "bingo fuel" phrase, it's рубеж возврата meaning the limit of return.

I believe I saw the entire phrasebook in the Russian and English FC3 manuals, I will look around in a few hours and hopefully start compiling it. I'll also provide a list of airports with their proper names, code names and MiG-21 frequencies/channels.

Fantastic! Thanks a lot!

That's really helpful. I was struggling with that one.

(and I need the russian terms for an audio file using some voice synthesis.)

Learning the different russian warnings should be part of the training to fly the Su-27

I'm eagerly waiting for your translation table!

(in the meantime, I'll try to find that FC3 russian manual (nothing in the english one)).

[EDIT: the FC2 russian manual has a few messages but it's not up to date - DL here - pages 239-240]

Manual for Su-27 for DCS has massages table on page 100. It's in ./Mods/aircraft/Flaming Cliffs/Doc. Unfortunatelly I have EN intallation, and there are only english version of them. Someone with RU file might want to uplad it here ;)

The russian manual is not yet available. We'll have to wait for the next update. ;) (unless some lucky one already has a WIP-version)

Thanks for your suggestion anyway!

Well, this wasn't easy. The FC2, FC3 and Su-27 manual are all equally out of date - most of the phrases are technically correct but aren't exactly what Bitching Betty / Nagging Nadia / Repetitive Rita says. :D

Here's a GDocs spreadsheet of all the DCS miscellaneous stuff I collected. You'll find the list of Nadia's phrases on the second sheet, and a list of subsystem acronyms on the third.

While working on this I noticed a few phrases do not have soundbites: "Bug out", "Gear up", "Negative" and "Rogue" - they are 0 seconds in length.

I've also noticed there are quite a few of them that I'd literally never heard - such as the "Check flight controls", "Increase RPM", "Throttle back engine" and the "Launched missile! Determine direction of threat!"

I checked the EN soundbank and they're all present, but I have no idea if they are used as I hadn't flown anything Western in a while.

Hope this helps. It's been fun making it, I had wanted to do it for a while anyhow!

Excellent work!

I made a pdf out of it with some color coding and translation adjustments.

>>> DCS russian terms addendum <<<

I've used the corresponding Bitchin'Betty's warnings where available to ease the English <-> Russian transition.

(I've never used Betty in a russian aircraft though - what a weird idea )

We just miss a few audio warnings.

I will try to process the missing messages with a voice recognition guinea-pig but the results may vary!

Thanks for sharing!!! :clap_2:

I will redo the worksheet later today - I have been taught how to set a GCI frequency on the Leatherneck sub-forum, so I plan to include the procedure on the worksheet, and update Ch.1 (Авария) accordingly.

I should probably add a guide to Russian numbers, just in case - maybe even other Russian code-names if I can find where they're used (such as code-name Mushroom and so on).
