Pallette Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Hi there gents, I wonder if it would be possible to edit the FX (i am interested in mainly the flare FX) from DCS to work in , say, FSX? The reason is that there is no decent flare fx for FSX, and I think it would be a great idea, if possible of course, to get the flares from DCS working in FSX to help out simulator demo teams to spark up their performance's, especially for those who got flares in their show in the real world. Cheers!
Cedaway Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 These Fx are hard coded in the graphic engine, so it is impossible to do... And how would you take a part of a graphic engine to transcode it to an other engine? No way. DCS Wish: Turbulences affecting surrounding aircraft... Pallette Posted January 22, 2015 Author Posted January 22, 2015 I have no idea how things like graphic engines could be taken apart or not, the thing is i can only see installments from sim-aircraft in both FSX and DCS, and these come with FX folders, sim objectives etc...And I know both fx from either FSX or DCS are built up from images, hard-coded into the engine or not.. So with just a tad of blunt knowledge i asked this question, do not even think for a moment that i know what i am talking about when it comes to stuff like this. If I knew, I wouldn't have asked ;) So it is impossible...o well....
NeilWillis Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 +1 Diveplane Why would you want to use FSX when we have a far better package here now? And even better things on their way very soon when Edge arrives on the scene. Plus, have a care for the intellectual rights involved in the development of DCS World. If FSX want better flare, then FSX should deal with it. Though of course, ED should also see this request as a sign that they're doing things right here.
Blaze Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I'm sure that'd also violate the EULA, among other reasons. i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement.
