Key control question on F15

I have a TM WH and have programed it for the F15 based on the profile provided by Polaris. However, I do have a question:

 

On the joystick, buttons 11 and 13, the "+ and -" keys are for the radar range, buttons 12 and 14, "Right Control - and +" are for the horizontal scan zone on the bottom of the radar and buttons 7 and 9, "Right Shift ; and .," are for the vertical scan zone.

 

However, buttons 8 and 10, Right Shift , and /, do not seem to do anything in the game. They are labeled scan zone left and right. What are they for?

 

Also, perhaps it is my error, but in the manual, I couldn't find anything on the keys for changing the radar range and ended up just using what Polaris suggested.
