Rangi Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I agree nothing better for situational awareness. I just wish ED would make the mouse cursor position independent of TIR movement as a toggle. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
tob.s Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Hi, i also tried the free ones - facetracks strenght is that you only need a webcam, but it often looses track and then has struggles to find you again . So i also tried building my own quick and dirty IR-diode-Tracker which, after removing the ir-filter of the webcam and adding some floppy-filter, had a quite good tracking. ( Filter removal was rather easy on my webcam, it only took some minutes ) As it was made mostly of cardboard it soon got out of shape though. Later i stumbled about someone who sells professional metal versions of this design on ebay as "Delan Clip" for around 30€ , i havent tried em jet but perhaps someone here knows em. http://www.ebay.de/itm/DelanClip-Motion-Tracking-FaceTrackNoIR-Free-track-compatibile-with-TrackIR-/231192635022?nma=true&si=qZNCWZPRoUHj1dW3rB7aGCM1U2A%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 theres also a lot of general headtracking information on his website I also stumbled across a guide for a gyroscope based headtracker. It will only give 3DOF, but doesnt require video processing, leaving more cpu power for dcs. http://edtracker.org.uk/
