Brainling Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Does anyone find the wheel brakes on the F-15 super soft, to the point of uselessness? Whether I use my pedals or the W key, the brakes just don't brake very much. Is there something I'm missing, like needing to engage 'S' to use the nose wheel steering correctly? I'm hoping I'm just being an idiot and it's not the Eagle itself. As one more note, I'm talking about during taxi, not so much on landing.
Exorcet Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 W is totally effective for me. I have noticed at really low temps the idle thrust on the Eagle can be obnoxiously high. Are you taxiing in winter conditions? Demongornot Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I use toe brakes but still, they are pretty effective for me too even loaded with full setup, but my brake expectation for a dozen tons aircraft with small wheels are not very high anyway ! Try out the brakes on the Su-25A/Su-25T you will change your minds :D Seriously do it, try the brakes on the Su-25, since he have weak brakes it will both give you a comparison with your Eagle and accustom you to low brakes power, the Su-25 can't even land on medium runway without using his parachute, brakes are that weak ! Idk for the real one, but in DCS they are really weak ! GGTharos Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 What speed are you taxiing at? A nominally loaded F-15C will weight in at 50000lbs. You might be expecting a little much from the brakes if you're expecting it to stop like a car would. Does anyone find the wheel brakes on the F-15 super soft, to the point of uselessness?
