Trounce Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Hello! I have installed Helios and bought a GP Wiz 40 board. I am trying to get some physical toggle switches to work with DCS A10C (Steam version). I can see the toggle works with Helios and Windows 7 control panel. However, I have no idea how to get it to work within the game. The steps that I have researched online seem to be fairly old and some require programming. I can tinker VERY lightly in notepad, but I am better at reading "paint by numbers" instructions drawn in big crayon. Can anyone out there help me out? Thanks! **Note** DCS World recognizes the GP Wiz 40 board and I can set toggle switches/ports in game under options. However, when I utilize the switch, the physical toggle almost appears to issue a pulse. Meaning, I have to flick the toggle once to "ON" and well, it goes to "ON". But, to turn it off, I have to have another pulse: I have to set the toggle to "OFF" then back to "ON" to get the second pulse for "OFF" in the virtual cockpit. This is not the behavior I am targeting. I want the GP Wiz 40 board to recognize a Hi and Lo so I can use SPST switches for any settings that have dual states. Thanks for any and all help!
bengo Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Better try the input/output section of the forums. I know Gadroc lurks around there, and since he's the creator of Helios, it'll be your best chance of getting a reply. http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=96 i7 6700k/GTX1070-8G/MSI-Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon/32GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX PREDATOR DDR4 3000MHZ Vengeance 1600/TM Warthog #6106/Samsung SB350_S27B350H/OCZ Agility3 SSD 128GB / Win10-64/TIR5
Sneetch Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Now I only have a 4th monitor, so just using it for gauges, but I just setup Helios and DCS version watching 0utLAW's vids. He also covers physical switches and some of the complexity to those, but believe it is still valid guidance. I was up and running in 5 minutes. Totally awesome software and intro vids. Makes me really want a touchscreen monitor and some physical switches. hehe 0utLAW's Introduction to Helios (parts 1 & 2) Also, recall reading somewhere the steam version is not being updated, so I just use the version from DCS and added a link in Steam for convenience. I bought a10c via steam and no problems with using the non-steam version. Good luck!
