I am still quire a newbie to this sim and gathering info is quite a challenge. I am using an old Logitech extreme 3D pro. i dont like the twisty stick for the rudders as every time I bank too much rudder input happens. I have tried to disable the rudder part of the joystick and use keyboard input (until I buy some CH rudder pedals)but I cannot sort that out using the Options menu. Is this even possible? All of this of course until I can decide which Hotas and throttle set up to by. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Pineapple Pete.

It is always best to not fly too fast or fly too slow. So I fly half fast. :D

Each controller has its own section (column), for each aircraft.

You can map the axis by selecting "Axis Commands" instead of "All" selected by default.

Also beware that DCS will automatically assign buttons and axis to any controller plugged in.

This can be a nasty surprise because the axis will be in conflict. To solve this you must clear the assignment for every controller you don't use.

Do that for both "All" and "Axis commands", for all aircraft you will use (I know, that: click on any cell to highlight the column, click "Clear Category" button then "Yes" on the popup.
