609_Relentov Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 If loaded with the center-line external fuel tank, how do you jettison it (besides using the "weapon jettison" key to drop all ordinance [except the AIM-9's])? Thanks
609_Relentov Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 Well, the silence is deafening :). I guess there's no other way than the weapon jettison key.
agentdarnell Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 The fuel tank jettison key. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
609_Relentov Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 Hmm, I wondered about that, but unlike other FC3 aircraft, the A-10A doesn't show a Jettison Fuel Tanks key mapping in the options>controls screen (at least not for me). Strangely enough, in the default.lua script under ..\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Input\a-10a\keyboard I see the following in the "-- Systems" section: {combos = {{key = 'R', reformers = {'LAlt'}}}, down = iCommandPlaneJettisonFuelTanks, name = _('Jettison Fuel Tanks'), category = _('Systems')}, but apparently it doesn't work with the A-10A (for me) - does it show up in anyone else's options>controls screen? Thanks
Winston60 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 There's no key mapping command to just drop the centerline tank. You'll have to program a button/switch or remember LCTRL + W for "Weapons Jettison". The first key/button press drops the centerline tank while subsequent presses will jettison weapons starting from the outer pylons first (except for the wingtip missiles that jettison last). The jettisons occur in symmetrical pairs. You cannot jettison the ECM pods. You gotta love the A-10A just for the sheer ease of learning it. It remains fun even though long existing bugs remain unfixed.
609_Relentov Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Thanks Winston, I'll try again to confirm in my case that the centerline tank is jettisoned first - I hadn't noticed that so if it works that way it's manageable then...
