Flaming cliffs wont start up at all need help!

Hey all Gray here and just wanted some help because i re installed the Lock on and got it all updated to Flaming cliffs and up to 1.12a and its all updated and everything but when i go to start the game all that happens is i hear the annoying music radio talk type stuff and it stays there forever and does nothing (dont worry i have waited for more than an hour for it to do anything and it still does nothing) need help what do i do? i long to fly my baby Su-27 :helpsmilie: :( :helpsmilie: :cry: :helpsmilie:

What windows version are you using and what are your system specs?

I have the same problem.

 

This is a clean install of Lock-On: Gold, but does not appear to be the "defective disc 2" issue that others are complaining about.

 

My game hangs during the "Loading Effects" portion, and keeps looping the intro radio track over and over again. I have been unable to fix the problem, even after updating to 1.12a, completely uninstalling, reinstalling, and re-updating to 1.12a.

welll i have a Costom Computer Windows XP i know i have plenty enough power when it worked i had all the settings on hight and blew past 30 FPS. my machine is a dream machine its got 2.21Ghtz AMD 4200+ processor a 7800 GT NVidia vid card (VERRY NICE) and a gig of ram and 3 SATA hard drives each whopes A$$ :thumbup: LED's on the inside... good times i say.

 

Also i'd like to ad that when i load it up and it just stays on the desktop and i see the little lock on mouse and down in the system tray i see it and hear the music but then nothing :S its worked before when i installed it the first time but when i re installed it i used remove programs and did that and then deleted the folder and uninstalled lo-man and crud then re installed it and now this.... was i suposed to delete my trash can before i reinstalled because of the lock on folder in there?

Just a wild shot;

 

I remember someone reporting the same problem some time ago, and it turned out to be incompatibility between Lock-on and installed video codec packs. So check whether you have any codec packs installed - if so try removing them and see if that does the trick.

well...i got it to work... it wasnt the firewall or anything like that i just installed the patches wrong :doh: works good now thanks ya'll.OH andl Alfa... i tried out that Codec thing you were talking about and its true... after i got FC to work i installed a codecs pack and it wouldnt start up. so i guess if it ever does it agian i'll know it could also be that.
