I am using the TM combined profile for the Mig 21 and I need to use Hotkey to activate my voice program. The key I want to use on the WH is number 19 on the joystick. However, I cannot figure out what that key number is when the joystick and throttle are combined. I tried adding the 32 buttons on the throttle and the 19 buttons on the joystick to get 51, but that didn't work.

So the question is-how do you determine, if possible, the button number on the joystick when you use a combined profile? I want to use F14 for the hotkey.

Hi,

run your profile then open the TM "Device Analyzer" and you'll be able to access the Thrustmaster Combined buttons as shown in this image.

I already did that but you will notice that each stick is listed separate and there are 2 number 19, one for the throttle and one for the joystick.

Take a look at my image. Joystick and Throttle are on the left, TM Combined is in the middle and you can see its 32 buttons.

Remember that one single controller can have no more than 32 buttons so...

1 Joystick = 32 buttons

1 Throttle = 32 buttons

1 TM combined = 32 buttons (and not 32+32)

Perhaps I am doing something wrong. When I loaded a script and tried to press a button, only the buttons on the side lit red and the buttons under TM combined did nothing.

Joystick button 19 (or DX19) corresponds to Hat 4 Press (H4P). In your profile H4P generates F14 and SCRLCK commands. What do you exactly want it to do?

The button does 2 things. First it operates Team Speak via the SCLK and it also operates VAC ( a voice program) with the F14. Originally I had wanted a seperate program called Autohotkey to activate the F14 when this key was pressed, but I couldn't identify this button in the TM combined so I tried to combine both commands in one key under target. I thinks it works ok so far, but for future reference I would like to know how to identify a key in TM combined. Did you get a key to light up in the center illustration? The problem that I have is that 19 lights up only in the side joystick illustration and there is also an unlit button 19 above it in the throttle illustration. As you have said, 32 + 19 cannot exceed 32 so how do you find the press key number on the joystick in TM combined?

When joystick and throttle are not combined they generate default DX buttons, for H4P it is DX19.

When they are combined, if needed, DX buttons can be defined by the profile you run (or within the sim).

In your case, you use macros and no DX button is defined and that's why you don't see any number

lit in device analyzer.

It means that in TM Combined you are pressing the H4P but you are generating a macro (F14 press) and not a DX19 press.

If your solution works, then leave it as it is. I think you don't need to know which button you are pressing to

get the result you need.

If you have problems with macro overlapping when you press 2 or more buttons at the same time,

if you need full control of the 2 and 3 stage switches of your WH, then DX buttons are a better solution than macros.

I am beginning to see the light. Interesting that the DX commands appear in the GUI manual but are not discussed. Thanks for your help
