Socket7 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I wanted to try sling loading on the MI-8. I succeeded, and then I had cargo to carry around, so I decided to take it to sochi. Then I decided to find out if I could fly under a bridge without destroying the cargo or my rotor blades. :pilotfly: Practice makes perfect.
TheThumper Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Good flying.... when you say sling load, you really mean it! Your load was really moving as you approached/entered the bridge span. I, myself, can neither hover much less pick up a load, so I am impressed! Thanks for sharing. ~Thump. Belgeode Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Aw snap! It does get addicting, trying to pick up and drop off cargo with the Hip. I've been stuck on doing that for the last couple of weeks now, only my cargo slinging job is not nearly as good. It's on youtube also. Now tell me this, did you play with weights? If so, did you notice an easier time (relatively) with heavier loads or lighter loads? I cannot for the life of me get lighter loads to stay steady. Even though the heavier loads rob me of power, it seems more stable to me once I compensate for it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] YouTube ~ Twitch
EagleFox Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Great. Next time try to drop a cargo on moving plane :)
