UPDATE 1.2.15 KILLS DCS COMPLETE!

DCS Auto updated to 1.2.15.

 

DCS Crashes on any Mission start - just gives 'Game stopped working'.:mad:

 

OS is Windows 8.1 with all updates installed.

 

Hmmmm Unstalled DCS. Deleted original instal program and downloaded new DCS - over 8gb! a pain on a RF internet connection.

 

Installed in clean.

 

Renamed the Saved games folder in case there was any conflict.

 

Downloaded and installed all owned aircraft types.

 

Run a mission - SAME RESULT 'Game stopped working' :mad::mad::mad:

 

Event Viewer application error returns :

FIXED....

 

Windows Update in its wisdom auto installed Intel Corp - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1 /2 /3 etc... before DCS updated..

 

My system has a Graphics Card and a built in integrated graphics option - it switches between the two dependent on need. - whatever this Windows 8.1 update did it screwed the high performance graphics causing DCS to crash.

 

Removing the update it sorted it....

Disable Windows update optional drivers at once, it's bad idea to allow it install any updates without user manual approval.
