Yes you should buy it, and whether you should worry about Starforce depends how paranoid you are ;)

The vast majority of people haven't had problems with it.

Some people have, and some of those people are very, very loud about it.

There's still a version of Starforce on the CD version, if that's what you're asking . . . . . so the same accusations apply to that as to the download.

Yup, Starforce is only a problem if you have problems with it. Some have, but most don't. Just be sure to back up all your data files, just to be sure...and...HOLD ON TO YER BUTTS!!! In extreme, rare cases you'll have problems and will have to nuke your HD and reinstall everything. In most cases, though, you won't even notice that its there.

Ok, just ordered FC, so it´ll come in the next few days. Just praying that it´ll work out. ANd oh...should I do backup files of only FC/Lomac or the entire computer?

Back up all of your personal data files. You don't have to back up your program files, as you should have CDs for them. ;) Backing up the LOMAC "control" folder is a great help though. This way you won't have to re-config all of your controls after upgrading. Let me know if you don't know what folder I'm talking about...I'm just goin' off memory. I'll find the specific folder if you need me to.

I have problems with my dvd-write speeds going down, which I put down to starforce ........BUT......................, even though I know my own system and what happens to it in day to day use, most will now assume I am a liar or an idiot,......

...hey I wonder if you can get a minus figure in your rep?:megalol:

Heh...nobody's gonna attack you Crusty. They'd better not anyway. If anyone does just give me names. ;) DVD write speed is something I'm afraid I am unequipped to comment on. My DVD writer is an old HP DVD200i...it doesn't get much slower than that. :D Its possible that I haven't noticed a problem due to my ancient drive.

Won't a System Restore Point before the FC Install do the trick? I Ghost my system, so I don't have any problems. But I though this was what System Restore was for... ;)

System Restore has worked miracles for me...but I still back up my data, just in case. ;) Its not StarForce related though...its just something I do regularly.
