BaD CrC Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Again, not being able to turn off the landing lights during MP makes your Mi-8 visible by night miles and miles away, people just need to follow the large light spot on the ground, making you a complete sitting duck. Secondly, this is my second Mi-8 mission where the Mi-8 pilots (including me) are unable to see the lights from the misc illumination devices. Got a combined A-10/Ka50/Mi-8 night mission last week. A-10 were dropping illumination bombs over the target but only the Mi-8 couldn't see lights. Ka-50 were fine. Then my last night mission where I was flying Ka-50 again by night, with one IRL wingman with Ka-50 and one mate flying an Mi-8 for extraction. I was firing illumination rockets over the group to extract but only me and my Ka50 mate could see the lights of the rocket on the ground. The Mi-8 pilot never saw my illumination rockets during MP (only when I shot them, then the ignition phase). https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
Socket7 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Yup. Mysterious lighting issues remain. I've still got the magic extra spotlights on mine, that don't correspond to any of the lights on the actual aircraft (landing, taxi, searchlights). Practice makes perfect.
kolga Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Me too, i think i found which switches they correspond to (Left and right head lights in the controls, Lshift L and Rshift L i think) but the actual light is still there. something else i noticed is the angle of the light stays the same regardless of your attitude.
