KewinSawicki Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Is anyone using this. I know the stand alone one comes with a usb connection but the one I can get is from a set with a ps2 connection. Will this make any difference? Will i still be able to use it ? Thanks 'Fear the strike'
Pfeil Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 It's not an actual PS2 connection. It uses the same physical connector, but plugging it into a PS2 port may either do nothing or actually damage the port. The quadrant you're referring to is the version that comes with the Saitek Yoke, and is designed to plug into that. Without dismantling the quadrant you may be able to interface the axes with something like a bodnar board. However, the buttons are likely connected to a shift register, which you'll need a microcontroller(arduino, etc..) to get values out of. Alternatively you can dismantle the entire thing and connect the buttons to a bodnar board directly.
KewinSawicki Posted March 28, 2015 Author Posted March 28, 2015 Hmm in that case I might just buy it separately :) thanks for the info. 'Fear the strike'
cichlidfan Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Make sure you can return it, if you buy one. I had one, for a day, but the pots were too jittery for me to use it.
