Here is my problem. I have a Alienware Aurora-R3 computer that runs DCS fine. But my video card has quit on me, Code 43. It locked up on a webpage went all static and then said the drivers were being restored. When it came back up it was booted into 640x480 rez with no option to greater, really bad looking. I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them (NVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti). The uninstalled boot had all kinds of static broken lines across the monitor and the desktop while clearer, still had lines. I reinstalled the most current drivers...no help. I uninstalled again and reinstalled a rollback set of drivers, no luck. I uninstalled again and let Windows get the drivers, still no luck. Widows is still telling me code 43 and stopping the video card. I am told I have a limited option to replacing the video card in that machine, all of which are out of production. I can pick up a used replacement $200 from Amazon but I am still not sure if it is now the video card or something else. I have complete access to the hard drives, printer, etc. at 640x480. So I don't think it is any other computer hardware problem, maybe something in Win7, possible.

Finally here is the question, as much of a pain as it will be to save all my files on the old machine and reinstall all my DCS modules plus RoF and IL-2 1946, and IL-2 BoS it may be time for a new system. I was considering a new Alienware X51 system but it only comes with multiple USB 3.0 ports, some normal some high speed. I have been reading on this forum about problems plugging USB 2.0 devices into USB 3.0 ports along with Windows 8.1.

Is anyone running a new Alienware system with those type of controllers and Win8.1? If so are you having any problems? I'm looking for information and suggestions. I have always had DELL and are very happy with them.
