Hey Guys.

I really want to launch my own server and password lock it down. I havnt installed DCS yet, my internet gets turned on tomorrow.

Can you host your own or do like a LAN setup with DCS??

You can host your own server without difficulty.

Launch the MP client, click NEW SERVER, give your server a name and enter the password. Select a mission from the list on the right hand side and your off :)

If any of your friends cannot see the server make sure you have the ports forwarded as often firewalls will get in the way.

Your server will be online for as long as you host it. To have a 24/7 server you need a dedicated machine with DCS installed and you follow the same process, launch MP, select New Server etc

Default port (both TCP and UDP) is 10308, but you can set your desired port on your server setup in DCS, so if there's a port that you already forward for another game, you could conceivably use that instead.

Only the server needs port forwarding, so your clients shouldn't need do do anything to join should you decide to change the port.
